how do I set up Qstarz Q818 for Microsoft Autoroute NMEA 2

    Hi

I am new to this , it worked great with my Tmobile Wing but I cannot get it  working with Microsoft Autoute 2007, on my windows XP pc using a USB port -   Its gives sime message about NMEA 2 not set or similar.

I can get the com port part set up, so it recognises there is a device there.  I cannot see where I say the device should "speak" to the PC in NMEA 2.

    Any advice is welcome.

    Thanks Andi

Are you using Q818 or Q818 Extreme?

Q818 does not support USB function at all. The included USB cable is strictly meant for charging only and cannot be used for GPS data exchange.

On the other hand, the Q818 Extreme supports USB Data but you must used it along with GPS Gate software (http://franson.com/gpsgate/). For complete instruction, please checkout our product page here: http://www.buygpsnow.com/Qstarz-818-eXtreme-Bluetooth-GPS-Receiver-51-ch-MTK--32hrs--1-5Hz-Configurable--Dual-USBBluetooth_984.aspx

Alternatively, you may also consider to purchase a USB Bluetooth Dongle to Bluetooth enabled your laptop: http://www.buygpsnow.com/globalsat-bta-806-bluetooth-dongle-520.aspx
