    Problem with OCN 6 and Holux m1200

    Hi there,

    I recently received a holux m1200 and OCN6 as a gift...

    Today when it was loading a map it suffered some kind of error and since then it will not run OCN 6.  It seems to start but then quits without fully starting. I have tried removing and reinserting the microSD card, i have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and I have uninstalled, soft reset and then reinstalled the program.  All to no avail.

    In addition, my device (Samsung i760) seems to have some trouble maintaining the com port, I frequently have to reassign a com port to get it to link with the GPS receiver.

    Any thoughts?

    May I know the exact error message you are getting from OCN6?

    Do you have a Card Reader attached to your PC / Laptop? If yes, we could send you some instruction to rebuild the card.

    Please explain to us the exact steps you have to do in "reassign a com port to get it to link...".

    What COM Port you have selected as your Outgoing COM Port? and did you follow all the steps here while pairing the Bluetooth GPS with your phone?

    Re: Problem with OCN 6 and Holux m1200

    Currently, I do not get any error message, it boots up the program, does not respond to any commands and then shuts down.

    I briefly got it to work again and it crashed my device requiring a soft reset and since then has not been working.

     I have been able to pair the blue tooth without problems and it works fine with windows live search and can get the GPS signal fine using Holux's mini viewer to confirm that it is connected.  Sometimes it will not connect and so I have had to delete it and reassign a com port to it.  I did follow all the steps, though I had it set as com 2 or com 4, now it is set as com 8 and seems fine.  For what its worth, on the initial pairing, the device cannot detect any bluetooth services on the receiver but it seems to work fine.

    I think the main problem i am having is with OCN 6 on the card. Uninstalling and soft resets have made no improvement.

    I do have a card reader on my laptop if that helps.

    One of the errors I got was that it could not detect an SD card, another was that there was a malfunction with the map.  Currently, as I said above, there is no error, it simply boots and then quits.

    Please help.

    Re: Problem with OCN 6 and Holux m1200

    Please use the instruction below to rebuild your OCN6:

    The most important file is license.db file and this file is a 13KB file located under "OnCourse" folder. Please back up this files in 2 places if possible.

    http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/forum/default.aspx?f=10&m=5830

    Once done, proceed to format the card using FAT format and not FAT32.

    Next, copy the original contents from your back up folder in your PC back to the card.

    Then, apply the OCN6 Plus upgrade using this link below:

    http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/forum/default.aspx?f=5&m=5747

    Please let us know your test result.

    Re: Problem with OCN 6 and Holux m1200

    okay, I've tried that twice now, format card with FAT, reload all data, add the OCN 6 update...

    It loads the software, I select a country and a voice...it looks like it is loading and in the lower right corner it goes through a number of loading operations and then it says starting in the lower right hand corner for about 15 seconds then it shuts down.

    Won't even start the program, can't get to the EULA.

    Any other thoughts or should I send it back and try a new one or maybe switch to Garmin XT...

    In your sys.txt file (located in your SD\OnCourse folder), do you see these 3 lines?

    [interface]

    skip_contact_import=1

    gxoff=1

    my sys.txt file does not say gxoff=1

    It reads:

    [interface]

    skip_contact_import=1

    [debug]

    lbendlin=0

    show_oneway=1

    show_residentonly=1

    show_gps_pos=1

    show_signpost=1

    show_uturn=1

    for what its worth...

    i tried adding that line to the sys.txt file.

    Then it was able to load to the point that the EULA came up and then if froze and shut down before I could scroll through it...

    Other thoughts?

    Some of the core components / files inside the card has been corrupted. Would you like to return it for an exchange or refund and re-purchase Garmin Mobile XT?

    Now, I do understand why you are having problems. You actually downloaded the wrong patch. The correct patch should have the 3 line but your sys.txt is missing that info.

    Please re-attempt to download the patch here: http://www.oncoursenavigator.com/forum/default.aspx?f=5&m=6332

     OK, was away for the holidays.  Finally had time to reformat the card, reload the OCN 6 and try the new patch....still doesn't work

    I think that the software probably is corrupt and would just like to exchange it for a new one at this point.
