I am new to this GPS stuff and I just recently bought a Holux M-1000 Bluetooth GPS receiver. When I first got it I turned it on and it would have a fix in no time and it was extremely accurate! I then started playing around with the software that was included. It is called Mini GPS Viewer. You can "open GPS" and I am guessing change the settings, although there is no "Ok" or "Apply" button so I don't really know if I am really changing the settings or not. There is a check box for "Power Save" and "WAAS/EGNOS" and buttons that are labeled "Hot Start", "Cold Start", and "Warm Start". I have no idea what I am supposed to set any of this at or even if it is being set when I check the boxes or click the buttons??? All I know is I want it to be able to get a GPS fix as fast as it was in the beginning and be as accurate as it was in the beginning. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, -Jon- P.S. I included 2 screen shots of the Mini GPS Viewer program so you might be able to get a better idea what i am talking about.

GPS Viewer is only meant for SiRF Star III GPS chipset, which is not compatible with Holux M1000, using MTK chipset. For M1000, you should use the following the PC (your PC or laptop must be Bluetooth enabled): PC Configuration utility on Transystem website - GPS View software (free)

Just out of curiosity, why did Holux ship the software with the M1000 if it is not compatible? Also the link you put in your post does not work. It just takes me to a page with a bunch of scrambled text and symbols.
Thanks, -Jon-

1) Link updated. Please re-attempt (Transystem website is not configured to handle rar files, so, we are hosting this file on our website instead). 2) No clue why that software was not tested before they were sent to mass production.

Is there a version for PPC? If not can I use the special Holux data cable to do this as well? Thanks, -Jon-

Nope but if you just want to look at the GPS Information, you could use BeeLineGPS: You may download and install BeeLineGPS trial version and test the GPS connection. Please see here for more info: http://www.visualgps.net/BeeLineGPS/
No, the Holux data cable is only available as an optional part which is used to transform the M1000 into a USB GPS Receiver and not to be used with any PPC. NOTE: The included USB Cable is strictly for charging only.
