TT6 has been crashing regularly on my Treo 650 Cingular (TT6 and BT-338)

TT6 has been crashing regularly on my Treo 650 Cingular.  I have not used it once without it crashing.  Here is a list of my installed apps:

BackupBuddy, FileZ, Graffiti Anywhere, KeyCaps650, KeyShades, LEDOff, NVBackup, PowerUp, pTunes, SplashID, TCPMP, and a few games (no PalmMAME).

I am using a 2g 150x PQI SD card and a GlobalSat BT-338.  I have 12.3 megs of on-board memory free and 325 megs available on my SD card.

I have tried many combinations of disabling and removing apps.  I have hard-resetted my Treo and reformatted the SD card.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

    Re: TT6 and BT-338

    Here are some recommendations:

    1) The larger the map set on your SD card (in MB) the more delay in map redrawing because more CPU / hardware resources are needed.

Action 1: Try to limit the map size to 2-3 neighbooring state only instead of using the complete USA and Canada seamless map.

    2) Free up your main memory space.

Action 2: Uninstall all application and re-install them into your SD card if possible.

    3) Be sure your SD card is formatted with FAT or FAT 16 and (not FAT 32) before installing the software and maps.

Action 3: You will need a SD card reader on your PC/ laptop to re-format your card. You may want to back up the content by copying them off to your hard disk first.

That should be all. Good luck.

    Re: TT6 and BT-338

    Thanks for your quick response.

    1)  I only have one state installed (~88megs).

    2)  I have 12megs+ of on-board memory free.  How much does TT6 need?

    3)  The SD card is formatted with FAT (not FAT32).

    Re: TT6 and BT-338

TomTom 6 technically needs 30 MB to run the seamless map but if you could free up to 15 to 18MB, it should be able to run without frequent crash.

Thank you for your help.  After a lot of testing, it turns out the SD card is to blame.  TT6 has not crashed once since swapping out the SD card.

If you do not mind, please share with us the actual cost of the SD Card issue? It is the wrong format or bad sectors in the card or something else.
