Cingular Blackjack PDA - which GPS/software is most compatible?

Can anyone recommend the proper GPS and software to best work with the new Cingular Blackjack 3G PDA?

I am hopeful that an outside vendor will meet the needs without my having to buy Cingular's $10/month unlimited routing plan - these plans are known as the "gift that keeps on costing"

    thanks

Thanks for your post. The only software certified to work on the Blackjack is the CoPilot Live | Smartphone 6 Software Only

    You will also need both:

    1) A Bluetooth GPS receiver and

    2) A microSD card to store map data, typically 1GB will fit complete USA and Canada maps. (We do not resell this card yet)

Important Note: All other software packages in our store are designed for the larger LCD size WM5 OS and not for your smaller size non-touch screen WM5 Smartphone OS.

Yes, I know that this is a really old message that I am reviving but... Am I the only one that finds the $10/month to be a good deal?  If you buy the software listed above you have to shell out $140 today for it plus about $50 for the memory card.  Even without including the cost of money that's 19 months of the service.  By then it'll be time to buy an updated set of maps adding more cost to the loaded software route.  I love the way Telenav works and the fact that I don't have to shell out big bucks upfront, can cancel any time I want, and automatically get map updates, well, that just seals it for me.

Thanks for your post and he is my opinion.

Actually, it is not just $10.00 per month. You are paying around $29.95 (T-Mobile) to $39.99 (Verizon) for Data Plan in order to keep your device (Blackjack) connected to the Internet.

Cost for Off-Board with TeleNAV: Let's take an average cost of data plan at $35.00 + $10.00 for TeleNAV subscription = $45.00 per month.

Cost of on-board with 2GB memory card with Garmin Mobile 10 as an example: $185.00, 1 time cost

You will ended up paying $540.00 ($45 x 12 months) on TeleNAV vs. $185.00 with On-board solution.  You expenses with Off-board solution is going to be very costly if you do it for 2-3 yrs in a row plus you will not get guidance or auto-reroute if you are in an area without cellphone coverage or areas with cellphone coverage but without data coverage.

Map updates is nice but it comes at a cost, which you could spend on another set or equip your spouse or girl/boy friend with another navigation unit with change left. Most maps may be outdated but as long as you know the closest close streets to your destination, you will be okay.

NOTE: Cost of memory card is around $12 for 1GB and $19.00 for 2GB not $50.0o as you have quoted above.

    Hi,

Can we use the Google maps software with Wintec WBT-100 GPS receiver for the blackjack phone. I already have a unlimited data plan.

    Thanks,

Hi, I tried connecting the Blackjack with WBT-100 and it seems like I cannot pair them. I see the WBT-100 getting detected, then checked the Serial Port, selected the COM port to be 6/7. But still the second led does not blik i.e connection did not succeed. Can you please give me a step by step instruction of how to pair them? Thanks.

During the pairing process, the Bluetooth LED light will not change at all. It will change when there is a GPS software on your phone that is actually connected and consuming the GPS data.

FYI: Please review the pairing steps for your device using the link below and compare them with the steps you have taken:
