How to upload Assisted GPS data to the Qstarz BT-Q1300

I'm trying to find out how I upload AGPS data to my BT-Q1300, does anyone know?

The software it comes with doesn't seem to have anything for it, but every site about it I see repeats the same "Capable of Assisted GPS: download almanac data to realize fastest TTFF and positioning" line.

BT-Q1300 does not support AGPS, hence you cannot upload AGPS data to it.

You can download this from the Travel Recorder program that comes with the Q1300. It's under File > Download AGPS. A dialog box will open showing how much time before the AGPS data will expire. In this dialog box, click . That should be it. I've tried going to their FTP site and downloading the AGPS data (they have 3, 7, 8 and 14 day almanacs), but then I've had problems uploading this file into the Q1300. There is a setting in the GPSView to update the AGPS, but it always gets a server error when I try it. The Travel Recorder has been the only successful way I've tried to get the AGPS. If someone else knows of a better way, I'd love to hear about it.

I have both the original BT-Q1300 (black & gold) and the current BT-Q1300S (white & green). I can download the AGPS to both using the same Travel Recorder program (v5.x). I bought the sports Q1300S when I left the Q1300 in a hot car this summer, while it was running. Ever since then, it will not stay on more than a few minutes before shutting off completely (whether plugged in or on battery). It still works as a receiver, but not as a GPS logger. Lesson learned.

Hi Mr. EMan, yes, you are correct. Both Q1300 and Q1300s are based on MTK II chipset and they are compatible with AGPS software.

    Sorry for the confusion.

For the Q1300s that would shut down after a few minutes, did you reconfigure it to log based on time interval, for example every 5 sec interval vs. distance or speed. This may help to prevent the unit from shutting down.

If your device will shut off itself, please try to clear or refresh the A-GPS data and the logger will be back to normal status.
