I'm taking a hard look at Garmin Mobile XT. Besides being from a big GPS company, it seems to have some good features. Garmin Mobile XT apparently can do live searches of gas prices, hotels, and such. Also, Garmin's POI loader can download points of interest created by others saved in various collections across the web. Though, it might be that such collections are not unique to Garmin and can be downloaded to other software. Anyone using Garmin Mobile XT? How do you like it? Have you used the POI Loader software?

I use Garmin Moble XT on My Axim x30H with great results.  I also have iGuidance 4 installed, but like the GUI and POI Loader of Garmin better.

I'd use Garmin XT exclusively if it had text-to-speech, which I find very useful when driving in heavy city traffic. (iGuidance has it)

Thanks. I've heard that in July Garmin Mobile will have a new version that will use Google maps, and also have some other features.

That version looks like it's for mobile phones rather than PDAs since the map data must be accessed from Garmin's servers.   I like to have everything local.

 It looks like an upgraded version of XT with Google Local search in the new interface just like the Nuvifone will have.  The maps are still onboard.

Does the traffic on the XT show flow on the map or does it just use incident reports?
