Best GPS software for AT&T Tilt

    Hi,

I just the AT&T Tilt and it has the built in GPS and I am new to the GPS world so I am looking for some advice.  I am looking to get a GPS software for it but I am not sure which is the "BEST" solution out there.  I have read a lot the posting and it seem like a lot of people like the OCN6 over the Garmin XT and TomTom 6.  Is there a reason for this?  It does not seem like any of these solution supports TTS either?

    1) It seems like TomTom has the best graphics but it uses a lot more memory making it sluggish.

    2) OCN6 does not provide any type of real time traffic or weather conditions but it seems to have the most POI.  I like the fact that you can choose any SD(4gig) to get the software on.  This allows me to have other programs on there so that I don't have to swap.  Am I missing anything here?  I guess I can always try OCN6 since it is returnable.:)

    3) Garmin Mobile XT seems to be lacking in that you are not able to zoom ahead so that you can see what is you next turn and if you miss the last message it not as easy to get to it.  Are these the only downfall to this product?  I like the online services such as weather and traffic and they are free.  Also the fact that you can add POI.

Any advice is more any welcome.

    Thanks.

Re: Best GPS software for AT&T Tilt

Hi, thanks for your post.0) Only iGuidance 4 has TTS right now. TTS is not available on TT6, OCN6, and Garmin Mobile XT. 1) In terms of graphics, it is very subjective but IMHO, OCN6 has better 3D view and road edges is smallest among all iGuidance 4, TomTom 6 and Garmin Mobile XT. The smaller road edges / borders make the map view looks smoother. You can checkout the movies of OCN6 or iGO 2006SE video at youtube.com: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ocn6 2) Yes, correct that OCN6 does not have real-time traffic or weather conditions. iGuidance 4 has real-time weather and Garmin Mobile XT has both real-time traffic and weather info.3) You could zoom in or out in Garmin Mobile XT (there are zoom buttons, labeled with "-" and "+"). The downside is you are not allowed to drag / pan the maps to see the nearby vicinity of your GPS position. Yes, OCN6 also has the ability to add POI in either (a) customs POI or (b) Red Light Cameras.

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick feed back...Also doing some more research I noticed that there is a new version of Destinator 7 which also has TTS? Also, it does not seems like any of these companies allow trail of there sofware so I could try them out.

     Thanks.

Per our conversation with Destinator Technologies representative, they will not be releasing Destinator 7 in North America.

Destinator 7 may be released already in Europe but they will not make it to USA / Canada because Destinator have decided to exit the PDA market here.
