    M1000 + PPC 6700 with WM6

Just got my Holux M1000 today (very fast shipping 2 days)

I had no problem pairing the device with my PPC-6700 however I have some questions:

    1. I have COM ports 0-9 available does it matter which I use
    2. Secure Connection box checked or unchecked?

Now I go to the Settings -> Connections ->External GPS

    1. GPS program port port available are none, COM0 - COM9, or GPD1 - GPD9 which do I choose?
    2. GPS Hardware port - I assume I have to set this to the same serial port I configured when pairing the M1000
    3. Baud Rate 4800 - 115200 is available.  Do I leave the 4800 default or turn it up?
    4. Manage GPS automatically checked or unchecked (it recommends checked)

I am starting by using Google Maps because it is free.  There is a GPS settings and 2 options either

    • Set by windows
    • Set manually

    HELP PLEASE

    Hi.

    1) Please see pairing instruction here and you should select COM 8 as your Outgoing COM Port: http://www.buygpsnow.com/support/issue_view.asp?ID=3038

    2) Unchecked.

In your External GPS: uncheck "Manage GPS automatically" checkbox and ignore all settings in all other tabs in this section.

In GMM: Menu, Option, Track Location Settings, Select Set Manually radio button, then select the outgoing COM port and baud rate.
